Never-Ending Work

As the title suggested.

So right now I have to rush through my EN105A report for my MiE project. A little bit of my fault as I kinda procrastinated.

But then again it's also the fault of the two tests I had today and was busy preparing.

Spent so much time preparing and the outcome is that I'm screwed.

Foundation Engineering:
I studied all the formula and how to tackle all forms of calculations. I was near invincible.
Kryptonite? All question came out was concept and theory-based. That's pretty @#$%-ed up.

Mental Health in Singapore:
Tested concepts that weren't even in the notes in the first place.
I got FUBAR-ed

Collecting my Nike Race pack tomorrow.

Hollywood Here I Come

I don't know how I should act. But the show must go on.

Assumptions?

According to Sherlock Holmes,
"When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth."

So if I followed this logic, does that mean I'm not making any form of assumptions?

Airplanes?

You know what? I think Canice is right. We guys probably like the song Airplane because of Hayley Williams.

You can get such a fucking revelation in life when you sneeze out blood in your phlegm.

Oh man, I love the workout I got just now.

My whole body may be aching and sore, but it sure got my mind off a lot of stuffs.

It's quite a good thing to be running alone too. Not really alone. I have around 70 plus other people running with me. But they're all strangers keeping to themselves. Each one of them a special inspiration in life.

I probably haven't found my power to trust and believe, but I seriously hope that I would be able to do so in the very near future.

Otherwise, everything's gonna go down the drain really quickly.

Foundation Engineering and Mental Health Quizzes tomorrow.

Hayley Williams!

Huh?

We are the children of a lost generation.
We are the ones left behind by the sands of time.

All of the elaborate preparation just for nothing? Or not for the main party?

Sands of time flowing like a river.

Horrible liar or an elaborate con artist?

Whatever the case is, it sucks to step on a pile of shit like that.

And as usual, assumptions is the mother of all fuck-ups.

One would think that after going through so much, I would have already learn to tell them apart. Looks like this little kid has got much much more to learn.

Life is more of a misadventure than an actual adventure. How can I forget? I learnt my lesson the hard way a few years ago. Seems like I need a reminder every once in a while.

Twenty odd years on the face of this planet and still learning how to crawl. Just darn interesting how Fate and Assumptions work hand in hand to fuck your life up.

You mean being alive isn't a job already?

Public Display of Affection

You know something? Who actually cares about what really happens around here?

Had lunch with TM at Canteen A and a weird couple sat across us. Too bad my back was facing them but I was able to see everything from the reflection of the window in front of me. And TM was also telling me what was happening when I couldn't see too clearly.

The girl was seated at her table while the guy was somehow kneeling next to her; and taking up way too much space along the narrow aisle.

So after putting our bags down we went to get our food. At that point of time, they were just being annoying, especially the guy. We couldn't hear what he was saying to her. He was whispering.

20min later when we're back with our food, the dude was still kneeling there. And all of a sudden, he exclaimed loudly, "小倩, 你能当我的女朋友吗?"

小倩?? What is this?? Pretty obvious where they are from. But 小倩?? That is just plain stupid, not to mention so insulting to the only 小倩 I knew so far. "A Chinese Ghost Story".. Remember?? "倩女幽魂". The female actress from that movie was really really very pretty. Joey Wong 王祖賢.

The student, however, was freakishly disgusting. Relatively of course.

So back to the story. The girl was tearing upon hearing what the dude said and the dude was saying things like "I'll take care of you forever", "I'll love you forever" etc etc. In Chinese of course.

I couldn't take their mushiness anymore. I walked up to him holding the tray with my pork bento set which came with a slice of watermelon and half a bowl of instant miso soup AND I broke the vibe with a simple, "Hi excuse me."

Do note that I said it in an absolutely sarcastic tone.

He mumbled his apologies and gave way.

We set down and started eating.

And the torture continued.

SHE: 你会永远的爱我吗?
HE: 我一定会永远爱你
SHE: 真的吗?
HE: 我真的会非常非常的爱你!
SHE: 你答应不会看别的女孩子?
HE: 我只会看我亲爱的宝贝小倩

ZOMGWTFLOLBBQ

I'm trying to have my lunch and they're being so mushy. Didn't help that the pork bento set tasted like crap. Rice was lukewarm, sauce was starchy, pork was over-fried, soup was too salty.

And then it started. They started.

The guy went to sit next to the girl while she was still eating and placed his hand on her back. And started stroking his hand up and down her back. After a while, it went around her waist. And about 5min later, the hand went to the inner thigh.

All this time I saw everything through the reflection of the window in front of me.

Goodness.

1pm. Lunch rush. And they're doing that in the middle of a canteen?

And after the girl finished her meal she rested her head on his crotch.

TM and I just couldn't take it anymore. I turned around and was about to say something, but another guy beat me to it.

That guy went up to the couple, placed one of his leg on a chair next to them, leaned on that leg, leaned to the couple and said, "Eh BRO! Give me a BREAK la! You all do this for 1hr already leh! Enough la! PLEASE! Enough la! Just go back to your Hall and fuck her ok?"

The whole canteen was roaring with support and clapped and cheered him.

Of course the horny dude wasn't too happy. He stood up and with a heavily-accented English, "What is your problem?"

The guy replied instantaneously, "YOUR FACE!" and walked off.

EPIC WIN LA!

So much for an otherwise boring day.

Confusion of All Sorts

Apparently I'm not so worried about the upcoming Steel Design Quiz. With the quiz being an open book one, all I'll need is my Red Handbook, BS59590 Code, some worked examples, a pen and a calculator and I'm ready.

Speaking of the BS5950 Code, it has been dubbed the BullShit Codebook. I guess it's because it is ridiculously heavy and as undergraduates, we are only using a small portion of the code book. And for that small portion required, it can be found in the Red Handbook.

I guess I must give a big thank you to the school for "strongly encouraging" us students to get our hands on a copy of it.

All 300 odd pages of it.

I had to print that monstrous thing. To avoid crowds and to get my printing done more quickly, I went all the way from my "home" at the North Spine to the Chinese Library to print it. And it has only 2 printers.

Imagine the long queue behind. All the frustrated Chinese students breathing down the neck of the engineering undergraduate for taking up their precious time.

I can almost hear them say, "Does that guy know there are almost 15 printers in the LWN Library next to the College of Engineering?"

I'm sorry guys.

Those 15 printers are serving the rest of the engineering schools.

I just have to be a little unique. Besides, please give me due credit for making the effort to travel all the way down to print my little precious notes.

And the best part? We'll be dumping the British Standard (BS) Code for the Eurocode in a few years' time.

Now I'm worried about my Foundation Engineering And Mental Health in Singapore Quiz.

I'm real worried about my mental health.

By decree, Shaun has decided to make Thursdays "Cartoon Day". So we are supposed to wear cartoon-y shirts on those days.

This will be fun.

But what can be more fun than Mervin finding out that he has a Human Resource Management Quiz today. The quiz will cover 4 chapters from the textbook.

I told him to just forget and go get a MC.

He decided to press on.

Halfway through the day, I asked him about his progress.

"I'm almost done with Chapter 1."

So I told him to just forget about the examples given in the textbooks and just read the explanation parts. Even with that, it took me 1.5hrs on average per chapter.

It was 3pm by then and his quiz was at 5.30pm.

He gave me a blank look.

I told him to just go get an MC.

He decided to persevere.

I can't wait to hear about his quiz on Thursday.

Anyway, it's a True/False kinda quiz. So theoretically, he has a pretty high chance of getting 50% of the questions right.

This is gonna be fun.

A New Start (Or Just Another Step Forward)

Honestly, I've been blogging for the past few years.

And on and off, I've created and deleted quite a number of blogs.

I've got a main one up, but that is just too dark. Yeah.

I've never deleted the main one or tried to edit it at all. For one reason: So that I can look back and see what was going through my head, whenever I want. Kinda like a little personal time capsule. But sometimes as I look back at those posts, I have absolutely no idea what was going through my head.

Some of those posts were the really emo kind.

I actually get a kick out of reading it.

Well, there are a few reasons why I wanted to start yet another blog for myself.
But this blog is mostly for Evon, my girlfriend.
Here's to us.

Now every time I start a brand new blog, I promise myself to keep things light. But I just end up sliding to dark posts.

I have no idea why I'm doing that.

Pretty scary huh?

Here's something that's scary: This is week 6 of my academic semester. 6 more weeks till exams.

This little rat race is draining the living daylights out of me.
